Jon, You feel free to take forward package and move ITP to your name.
You can upload the package and if needed, Khadeeja can join the team
as it is maintain using collab-maint.

Hi Jon,

I tried out your Debian package but found that the generated package
didn't actually install anything, because debhelper was looking for a
'make install' target in bup, which didn't exist.

I've now added a 'make install' in bup, so if you pull from my latest
master on git://github.com/apenwarr/bup, the Debian package should
work.

Thanks for your work!

Have fun,

Avery

I've put a (very) initial git repository for Debian
packaging in the collab-maint space

clone from

'master' is tracking upstream/master -- the debian branch is
the interesting one, which is sitting on top of the most
recent upstream tag (currently bup-0.13).

People with alioth accounts can (hopefully) push to

This is very, very early, I just wanted to get the space
setup really so interested parties can start work.

Good news! There's a whole suite of man pages included in bup now.

I think by the time the next Debian-stable release comes out, bup
ought to be in very good shape for inclusion. It's still missing a
few features, but it already makes useful backups.

Hi Khadeeja, Kartik,

Bup looks awesome. At least it looks like it has great

In terms of the ITP, A Homepage: field would be useful,
perhaps ?

bup is awesome. However, I got no reply from Khadeeja yet about packaging
progress. I guess I'll wait for sometime and start working on packaging after
it. If you can join, it will be great.

Biggest task will be to write nice 'manpage' and try to get it merged with
upstream, I guess :)
