Bug#565327: epiphany-browser: always asks to unlock keyring on startup
Hi, Do you have the same problem with the latest version of epiphany-browser ? I'm unable to reproduce the bug on my side, and I'm using 2.29.91 here. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Contact listmas...@lists.debian.org

Thanks for the details. I need to know if this is a packaging related issue or a bug in Epiphany source code actually. Can you try it in another distro (eg. Ubuntu or whatever Debian based) and tell me what happen ? -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Try also to install libpam-gnome-keyring and see if it helps. This module is responsible for unlocking the gnome keyring actually. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Contact listmas...@lists.debian.org

Sounds like a problem with XFCE then? Try another app which also uses the keyring, such as seahorse or vinagre. Epiphany does use the keyring for storing all your passwords, so asking for it to be unlocked isn't unnecessary. -- Cheers, Sven Arvidsson http://www.whiz.se PGP Key ID 760BDD22 signature.asc Description: This is a digitally signed message part

Epiphany does use the keyring for storing all your passwords, so asking for it to be unlocked isn't unnecessary. its unnecessary if i do not wish to use that feature. i think it makes complete sense if i as the user actually want to start using the keyring, but until i say that i want to do that, i shouldn't see anything about that. thanks for looking into this. mike -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. package: epiphany-browser severity: important version: 2.29.5-1 as of the latest upload, which introduced a build dependency on libgnome-keyring-dev, epiphany now pops up the keyring unlock dialog on every start up. this is of course unnecessary and can be somewhat disconcerting (my first thought was that something malicious had gotten on my system and was looking for elevated privileges). thanks. mike -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe.
