It rather looks like the first line is meant as a short description by upstream already and that you added an additional short description to the package? If this is the case just drop it from the long description and replace the synopsis (what follows directly the Description: field) with this and get rid of your addition? If this is not the case then a convincing argument would be: Why actually provice two short descriptions that actually are offering more or less the same? Thanks for taking care of the other two points already. :) Rhonda -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Hi Gerfried, thanks for your caring for the descriptions. Gerfried Fuchs wrote: > The long description of your packages could need some formating > improvements. These descriptions are provided by upstream, and it doesn't make sense that we change them if they don't follow. I agree with the general Debian guidelines for using complete sentences. However, in this particular case I find it hard to argue with upstream why for example Support for typesetting German. . Source: texlive-lang Version: 2009-3 Severity: minor Hi! The long description of your packages could need some formating improvements. First of all they start off with non-sentences. Please use complete sentences, they are using their subject and verb. Secondly, the listed hyphen-* parts don't contain anything after their dashing. Thirdly, the Homepage URL is missing its trailing /. Please be notified that this results in two requests to the webserver instead of a single one, the first is receiving a 301 Moved Permanently response. So long, and thanks for effort for Debian nevertheless! Rhonda -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble?
