Bug#566534: hdfview: Package conflicts with libhdf5-openmpi-1.8.4

2010-01-23 Thread Don Pellegrino
Subject: hdfview: Package conflicts with libhdf5-openmpi-1.8.4
Package: hdfview
Version: 2.5-11
Justification: renders package unusable
Severity: grave

The HDF Java packages currently depend on libhdf5 v1.8.3.  The HDF
v.1.8.4 libraries have been released into sid.  With 1.8.4 packages
such as libhdf5-openmpi-1.8.4 installed hdfview cannot be installed.
It attempts to bring in 1.8.3 dependencies which conflict with 1.8.4
libraries.

I noticed that. It is mostly due a packaging error on libhdf 5.
I reported it on #566540.
