Thanks a lot, I failed to check there.

Indeed, ~beta2a should be OK.

Regarding this bug, feel free to do as you prefer (close, tag it
pending, whatever). Maybe keeping it around would help other people like
me looking for beta2 ...

Cheers.

Dear Zack;

Please feel free to grab the current packages from collab-maint

debcheckout libsynthesis
debcheckout syncevolution

(I have a feeling this is one person I don't have to explain debcheckout
to)

The packages seem to work ok, but I'm currently trying to figure out why
the calculated dependency of libsynthesis is wrong. I've updated the
symbol files, but somehow dpkg-shlibdeps is not picking that up. I
tested with the old libs and it fails in mysterious ways. I'll post a
request for help to -devel or -mentors a bit later.

Anyway, just make sure you install libsynthesis 3.4.0.5+ds1-1, even if
apt thinks 3.0.35+blah is ok.

I suppose ~b2a is a bit cryptic. I don't mind either way, really, as
long as it starts with b.

Bug#572640: please package new upstream release (in case you're looking for testers)

2010-03-05 Thread Stefano Zacchiroli
Package: syncevolution
Version: 1.0+ds1~a1-2
Severity: wishlist

Hi David,
upstream has released a new beta release of syncevolution.

I generally don't bother requesting packaging of beta releases, but in this
case---given that you've packaged an alpha release in experimental---I thought
you might want to package the beta2 there too. In case you want, I'll be happy
to test the package. Very quickly, I've tried to naively port the Debian
package to the new beta2, but compilation failed (then I ran out of time to
investigate more).

While I'm at it, I must confess the current versioning scheme for the Debian
package is not terribly clear to me, can you please consider making explicit
"~beta2" somewhere, in case you package the new beta?

Many thanks for your work in maintaining syncevolution!
Cheers.
