 Thanks, you are right, I see the pdf file with テスト, thanks.

 BTW, why does xpdf not show the file properly, while evince does?
 $ xpdf test.pdf
 Error: Unknown character collection 'Adobe-Japan1'
 Error: Couldn't find a font for 'Ryumin-Light-Identity-H'
 Error: Unknown character collection 'Adobe-Japan1'
 Error: Unknown character collection 'Adobe-Japan1'
 Error: Couldn't find a font for 'Ryumin-Light-Identity-H'
 Error: Unknown character collection 'Adobe-Japan1'

In lenny `xpdf-japanese' (in non-free) should correctly show this PDF
file. In squeeze or later xpdf-{cjk}* packages are (perhaps) going to
be merged to `xpdf' package (Bug#577917); after the merge xpdf will
show it correctly.

 So I will upload?

 Or do you suggest to add a recommends or suggests to cmap-adobe-japan1
 and/or ptex-whatever?

Most of the files in cmap-adobe-* packages are also included in
`poppler-data' package, so a future merge might occur (but I don't
know how/when that will happen). Suggesting cmap-adobe-* packages e.g.
cmap-adobe-japan1 | cmap-adobe-cns1 | cmap-adobe-gb1 |
cmap-adobe-korea1 | cmap-adobe-japan2
(like `gs-cjk-resource' package which recommends them) may be
currently better, which should or should not be changed in the future.

 I have prepared a temporary tex-common package with that change,
 but your test.dvi still does not work ... After installing ptex-jisfont
 I get:
 $ dvipdfmx test.dvi
 test.dvi - test.pdf

 ** WARNING ** Failed to load AGL file pdfglyphlist.txt...
 ** WARNING ** Failed to load AGL file glyphlist.txt...

 ** ERROR ** Could not find encoding file H.

 Output file removed.

 Is that to be expected? I thought after the fix to texlive-binaries
 and to tex-common we finally could close this one?

This behavior is expected; the encoding file H exists in
(currently) cmap-adobe-japan1 package, so installing the package
should generate a correct PDF file.
