Bug#595744: roundcube-core: impossible to answer debconf question

2010-09-06 Thread Andreas Henriksson
Package: roundcube
Version: 0.3.1-4
Severity: normal

When upgrading my debian installation I'm faced with this debconf question,
every time the updated packages includes roundcube:

 ┌──┤ Configuring roundcube-core ├───┐
 │ │
│ Since you are reconfiguring roundcube, you may also want to reinstall │
│ the database which it uses. │
 │ │
│ If you wish to reinstall the database for roundcube, you should select│
│ this option. If you do not wish to do so (if you are reconfiguring the │
│ package for unrelated reasons), you should not select this option.│
 │ │
│ Reinstall database for roundcube? │
 │ │
 │Yes No │
 │ │
 └───┘

The above message gives me absolutely no help at all!

It basically just fills up the entire screen saying there are two options
to choose, and I can only choose one of them.

Since you are reconfiguring roundcube,...
I'm not. I'm just upgrading my debian installation.

... you may also want to reinstall the database which it uses.
Why would I want to do that? Why would I not want to do that?

if you wish...
This part is completely redundant. I can see there are two options (yes/no)
to choose from. No need to spell it out for me.

Reinstall database for roundcube?
Again.. why? what should I choose here?
Will I risk sucking in the entire world into a black hole if I say yes?
What's the consequenses if I just go with the default no?

I guess one of the things that will happen is that if I go for no is
that you'll continue bugging me about this Maybe I should just
answer yes this time and see if you stop asking me this question.

That's true. I don't know if a config script can detect an upgrade from
a reconfigure. I don't find what could have triggered this change in
dbconfig-common. I reassign this bug to dbconfig-common.
