MacOS 9 was last released in 2001 and I don't think it's reasonable to
spend effort on compatibility with it.  It certainly doesn't seem that
anyone is interested in fixing.

Let's document this in the release notes and/or installation manual (as
the problem already existed in squeeze and will likely persist in
wheezy+1).
