Bug#616608: regression, scrot -s fails via keybinding again

2011-05-26 Thread William Vera
Hello!

I close this bug because in the tests I've done with debian "SID" and
"testing" had no problems with scrot.
But if you think I'm overlooking somewhere feel free to open it again
to discuss it.

P. S. The author seems to be inactive has not answered any emails about it

Best regards!

I did some tests with Gnome and Fluxbox and it seems that it is not
proper to scrot problem.
However I have sent an email to the upstream to give us their views.
Thanks for your report

Bug#616608: regression, scrot -s fails via keybinding again

2011-03-05 Thread skizzhg
Package: scrot
Version: 0.8-13
Severity: normal

Years ago scrot had a trouble with the '--select' option via keybinding, then
was gone.
Now is come back, via command line works fine but not anymore with fluxbox keys
(I don't know with other WM).
When i press the keys (Shift Print), in ~/.xsession-errors i can see
"giblib error: couldn't grab keyboard:Resource temporarily unavailable"

Here I have found a dirty workaround, see the last post and the first in the
second page
http://forums.debian.net/viewtopic.php?t=35244

so now it works with:
"xmessage 'screenshot' -center -timeout 1 && scrot -s -b
shot_%d-%m-%y_%H.%M.%S.png"

I'm not sure if that is strictly related to scrot, but it seems it needs to
wake up
before taking the shot.

ciao
