Bug#621839: playlist columns no longer selectable

2011-04-09 Thread Alexander Zangerl
Package: glurp
Version: 0.12.3-1
Severity: normal

The glurp version in lenny let you select which song metadata columns to
show in the playlist window (e.g. album, filename and so on).

the version in squeeze has lost that functionality and always
only shows artist - title (see calls to
mpd_song_markup() in gui.c and support.c) or falls back to name
(when streaming) and filename if artist/title aren't present.

i very much miss the ability to see what albums are in my (longish)
playlist.

i don't know why that functionality was removed, as the changelogs
don't say a thing; maybe the column selection setup of the older
version was a bit over the top and/or bothersome as they were
fixed width cols?

anyway, it shouldn't be too much hassle to make the format specifier
to mpd_song_markup() configurable so that one can specify one's preferred
info set.

regards
az

As this is technically not a bug report but a feature request, I
change the severity of this bug to wishlist.

I am also forwarding this e-mail to Benoît Rouits who is the current
upstream maintainer of glurp.

Benoît, does the project still use the bugtracker at SourceForge, or
it has been moved somewhere?
