Bug#622719: aptitude forgets automatically installed state on package upgrade selection
This changed in revision 2085.1.1 of apt. Fer crying out loud, if I had the time I'd just ditch their handling of the auto flag and do it myself. What's especially frustrating is that they tried to accommodate aptitude, but they didn't understand what they were doing. Guess it's really my fault for not keeping up on this stuff. I guess that as a workaround (ew) I can save the auto flag before I call MarkInstall and restore it afterwards.
