Right, sorry, that's specifically if you're using the new Kde frontend. Not quite but we're close now (thanks again Colin!). The old Qt frontend and the corresponding build dependency on libqtgui4-perl are still there as Colin is seeking testers for the new frontend. See #631769 . I note that there's also a patch now for #887687 in src:smokeqt, so src:qt4-perl life support could still be extended a bit if necessary. -- Niko Tyni nt...@debian.org

Seven years later it looks like qt4-perl is finally dying, see #887687. As libqtgui4-perl can't be rebuilt for Perl 5.28 in its current state and is not going to be fixed, removal of this debconf frontend has become a blocker for the Perl 5.28 transition and needs to be done in any case before buster releases.
