Bug#633913: [Pkg-tcltk-devel] Bug#633913: tcl-doc: depends vs recommends

recommended packages are installed by default

Though that's only a rather bad misfeature of apt of course. It's a bit
confusing to have the package description saying it depends on the
latest when it's only a recommends, unlike the corresponding tcl-dev
which is a depends.

(I suppose the actual reason is to have a home for tcltk-policy.txt
without bringing in a particular tcl version if wanting only that
document.)

Bug#633913: tcl-doc: depends vs recommends

2011-07-14 Thread Kevin Ryde
Package: tcl-doc
Version: 8.5.0-2
Severity: normal

The package description of tcl-doc says it depends on the latest -doc,
but it seems only to have

Recommends: tcl8.5-doc (= 8.5.0-1)

Is that meant to be Depends: ?
