Bug#634243: RFP: gptfdisk

2011-08-04 Thread Piotr Szydełko
I would like to see GPT fdisk package in Debian too.

There are debs build by OpenSUSE Build Service
http://www.rodsbooks.com/gdisk/download.html#obs

Parted supports GPT too but this GPT fdisk is more powerful. Partition
table conversion was especially useful to me.

Is there something I could do help with this?

Bug#634243: RFP: gptfdisk -- GUID (Globally Unique Identifier)/GPT partitioning tools

2011-07-17 Thread Karl Schmidt
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: gptfdisk
  Version : 0.7.2
  Upstream Author : Rod Smith rodsm...@rodsbooks.com
* URL : http://www.rodsbooks.com/gdisk/
* License : GPL
  Programming Lang:  C++
  Description : GUID (Globally Unique Identifier)/GPT partitioning tools

GPT fdisk (consisting of the gdisk, sgdisk, and fixparts programs) is a set of
text-mode partitioning tools for Linux, FreeBSD, Mac OS X, and Windows. The
gdisk
and sgdisk programs work on Globally Unique Identifier (GUID) Partition Table
(GPT)
disks, rather than on the more common (through 2011) Master Boot Record (MBR)
partition tables. The fixparts program repairs certain types of damage to MBR
disks and enables changing partition types from primary to logical and
vice-versa.
