Bug#644512: sound-juicer: Completely broken track lookup
Hi folks, I've just been bitten by this bug *again*. I was amazed it hadn't been fixed but of course it has, upstream at least; but the build-deps need sorting for it to take effect. It would be great if multi-disc functionality was fixed for wheezy. I've been a) wanting this fixed for a while and b) interested in helping out with the GNOME team, so I will test this patch tonight and then put binaries somewhere, perhaps mentors. -- Jon Dowland -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. This is a multi-part MIME message sent by reportbug. --===6785641834234096218== Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Content-Disposition: inline Package: sound-juicer Version: 3.4.0-1 Followup-For: Bug #644512 Dear Maintainer, please apply the appended patch which make a depend on libmusicbrainz = 4.0.1 possible. Then compiling and installing git://anonscm.debian.org/collab-maint/libmusicbrainz.git (which generates the needed libmusicbrainz4-dev = 4.0.1 for wheezy) will allow to build sound-juicer with this nasty bug cured. As soon as libmusicbrainz4-dev = 4.0.1 is in wheezy the build dependency on libmusicbrainz3-dev should be dropped to finally solve this bug. Package: sound-juicer Version: 3.4.0-1 Followup-For: Bug #644512 I can confirm this on 3.4.0 and with multiple albums on previous versions. Bug#644512: sound-juicer: Completely broken track lookup
Package: sound-juicer Version: 2.32.0-1 Severity: important Sound Juicer has been reliable for ages, but suddenly on my Wheezy system, it's behaving weirdly. It happened the other day when trying to rip my Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of The War of the Worlds *blush* but now it's happened again with a different CD. I'll explain. The CD in question is Steven Wilson's new double album, Grace For Drowning. It's two CDs, CD 1 contains 7 tracks, CD 2 contains 5. When I insert CD 1 to rip, I get http://img821.imageshack.us/img821/4396/screenshotsoundjuicerj.png which is obviously a lot more than 7 tracks. I did some digging on the MusicBrainz site. This album was released in several formats as per http://musicbrainz.org/release-group/3bc197f9-8f06-44eb-af4a-aecf2e313cb2. For some reason, Sound Juicer is picking the track list for 3xCD + 2xBluRay rather than 2xCD. I have just tried to rip CD 2 with 5 tracks and it has again picked up the same listing. It was the same with War of the Worlds, but I don't have the links to hand. I hope this can be fixed easily as it is a terrible UX. Let me know if you need any more data. PS I have just looked at http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=631610 and http://musicbrainz.org/doc/libmusicbrainz which might shed some light on the subject. I believe that the upstream libmusicbrainz 4.0 is *not* the same as Debian package libmusicbrainz4c2a (source: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/sound-juicer/+bug/455461). I believe that packaging libmusicbrainz4 for Debian, and porting sound-juicer to use it, might be a good idea. -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 3.0.0-1-686-pae (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_GB.utf8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages sound-juicer depends on: ii gconf2 2.32.4-1 ii gstreamer0.10-plugins-base 0.10.35-1 ii gstreamer0.10-plugins-good 0.10.30-1 ii libatk1.0-0 2.0.1-2 ii libbrasero-media0 2.30.3-3 ii libc6 2.13-21 ii libcanberra-gtk00.28-1 ii libdbus-glib-1-20.94-4 ii libgcc1 1:4.6.1-4 ii libgconf2-4 2.32.4-1 ii libglib2.0-02.28.6-1 ii libgnome-media0 2.30.0-1 ii libgstreamer0.10-0 0.10.35-1 ii libgtk2.0-0 2.24.4-3 ii libmusicbrainz3-6 3.0.2-2 ii libpango1.0-0 1.28.4-3 Versions of packages sound-juicer recommends: ii eject 2.1.5+deb1+cvs20081104-8 Versions of packages sound-juicer suggests: ii brasero 2.30.3-3 ii gstreamer0.10-lamenone ii gstreamer0.10-plugins-really-bad none ii gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly0.10.18-3 -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe.
