I used to experience this problem on sid too, but it seems to have
vanished recently (possibly thanks to a xserver-xorg-video-intel
upgrade).

As before, I don't have gnome-shell anymore on my laptop. Please
close this bug if nobody else can reproduce it.

I concur: we should probably close this bug. Shall I go ahead, or do
the maintainers want to handle this differently?

Cheers,

Hey Norbert,

this is an old bug report.

Could you please still reproduce this issue with newer gnome-shell version
like 3.4.2-7+deb7u1 or 3.8.4-5+b1 ?

thanks

I’ve already seen that, and I’m convinced this is a driver problem.
What graphics driver are you using? (Mine is radeon.)

Bug#645716: gnome-shell: after suspend the screen is shown for a short time before it is locked

2011-10-17 Thread Norbert Preining
Package: gnome-shell
Version: 3.0.2-5
Severity: normal

Hi all,

I have gnome3 set up that it locks the screen when suspended.

But when I resume the laptop, the original screen is shown for about
1 sec, after which the lock screen pops in.

This is bad behaviour, because it can in principle release critical
information to unauthorized users.

Please make sure that after resume the desktop and all the windows
are *never* shown at all.

Thanks

Norbert

PS: I had the inclination to make that severity serious, since it
is a potential security issue.
