Bug#656119: uhd-host: command not found during postinst

2012-01-16 Thread Andreas Beckmann
Package: uhd-host
Version: 3.3.2-2
User: debian...@lists.debian.org
Usertags: piuparts

Hi,

during a test with piuparts I noticed a command not found during
postinst, the relevant lines from the attached logfile (scroll down to the
end) are:

  Selecting previously unselected package uhd-host.
(Reading database ... 7634 files and directories currently installed.)
  Unpacking uhd-host (from .../uhd-host_3.3.2-2_amd64.deb) ...
  Setting up uhd-host (3.3.2-2) ...
  Adding group `usrp' (GID 102) ...
  Done.
  /var/lib/dpkg/info/uhd-host.postinst: 13:
/var/lib/dpkg/info/uhd-host.postinst: sysctl: not found
  dpkg: error processing uhd-host (--configure):
subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 127
  Errors were encountered while processing:
   uhd-host

From the third paragraph about the meaning of the depends field in
http://www.debian.org/doc/debian-policy/ch-relationships.html#s-binarydeps

The Depends field should also be used if the postinst, prerm or postrm
scripts require the package to be present in order to run. __Note,
however, that the postrm cannot rely on any non-essential packages to be
present during the purge phase__.

cheers,

Andreas
