Bug#656858: libimage-exiftool-perl: new upstream version available
Thanks to Gregor for updating to version 9.04! Production version 9.12 was released last week (fixing a not-insignificant bug in 9.04), so the debian package should be updated to this version if possible. - Phil -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. No, I have no objection to the Debian-perl team taking over this package. Please do so. I really wanted to keep up the maintenance myself, but it is past time I realized there is no time for it right now, and won't be for quite a while yet. As to joining the debian-perl team, I'll remember that and come back to it if (when?) free time becomes available again. Do I need to do anything more for this to happen, or can you take care of the rest? (Yes, I realize I could read up on that and find the answer myself, but, see comment about time constraints above) All the best Mari (And thanks to upstream for being unusually patient) -- Mari Wang -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. About 10 days ago I sent an email to m...@qu.debian.org requesting that this package be orphaned. They suggested that I email the sponsor/co-maintainer, Petter Reinholdtsen, which I did, but I have so far had no response from him either. - Phil -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Hi Mari. On Sun, 2012-06-03 at 11:03 +0200, Mari Wang wrote: Which is a development release, and not considered for upload to Debian. 8.90 is the latest production release. Ah I see... well I guess deciding which versions you take for sid is up to the maintainer/you... but I made the experience that all most of the releases from exiftool seem to be rather stable,... and given that this package is not essential, one could probably also justify uploads of development versions but as said... up to you :) Um, no. There have been five or six new production releases in the past year. Yeah, sorry... I didn't see that they differ between stable and development... and just always used the most recent one which never made me problems :) I've had a crazy year IRL Hope it got better! , and am currently picking things up again. A new exiftool package is high on my todo-list, but requires some reconstruction due to a disk crash a while ago. Nice to hear... just wanted to knock the door to see whether you were MIA ;-) Best wishes, Chris. smime.p7s Description: S/MIME cryptographic signature

[Christoph Anton Mitterer] Package: libimage-exiftool-perl Version: 8.60-2 Followup-For: Bug #656858 Hi. 8.93 is out in the meantime,... Um, no. There have been five or six new production releases in the past year. Which is bad enough, for sure, but not quite as dramatic. Has this package beend abandoned? If so could you please orphan it, so that someone else could take it over? I've had a crazy year IRL, and am currently picking things up again.
