Bug#657314: [Pkg-samba-maint] Bug#657314: Bug#657314: unstable: 2:3.6.1-3 fails to build due to incorrect python-ldb bindings

I finally had a successful build. In addition to removing the ldb
libraries,

I had to remove the python-talloc packages. I think the problem is the
current python packages derived from the current ldb and talloc sources.

Thanks,

That shouldn't be a problem.

It seems like the issue is that the system python bindings for
ldb/talloc get picked up during the Samba build for some reason, even
though they're not usable.

I'm tempted to close this bug as this is not really related to the
Debian package (that currently builds fine).

Just in case, I tried to rebuild the package with pbuilder in a sid

Could you give us more details about what you're trying to achieve?

I'm trying to build samba 2:3.6.1-3 from source with apt-get/dpkg-buildpackage

Are the symbols listed as undefined in the report actually defined

I don't see any dependency on ldb.
ldb is also included in the Samba source tree, so a dependency isn't
necessary. Can you reproduce this *without* any ldb libraries
installed?
