A correction on my first post: gnome-shell is installed on a *wheezy*
box, not a squeeze one.
(Obviously, since gnome-shell is not part of squeeze.)

Have you maybe mis-configured that shortcut yourself?

Well, manuel configuration of this shortcut does not ring any bell for me.

On the other hand, I do have modified terminal shortcut, which did not
stop working after upgrade.

I tried with a fresh user account and it works out of the box.

This works here too:
- create a new user
- quit session and login with this new user
- use default shortcut: screen locks like a charm.

Bug#658883: [gnome-shell] Shortcut for screen lock ([ALT]+[CTRL]+L) does not work anymore.

2012-02-06 Thread Fernando Lagrange
Package: gnome-shell
Version: 3.2.2.1-1
Severity: minor

I thought this was worth a bug report since it annoyed me for some time
before I found a workaround (= feel free to reject this bug).

After last update of gnome-shell to v3.2.x on a squeeze box, screen lock
shortcut did not work anymore.

Although it is possible to use Lock Screen entry in user's menu on top
right, it was annoying not to be able to use keyboard. ^_^

Today, it came to my mind to redefine this shortcut to its same default
value using Shortcuts tab in System Settings-Keyboard.

After reassigning [ALT]+[CTRL]+L as lock screen shortcut all went back
as usual. :-)

Hope These 0.02 cents Help someone,
Fernando
