Bug#659766: remmina: floating toolbar disappears after first use

Ben *** Remmina routinely crashes x11vnc (could be an x11vnc bug? Dunno. xvnc4viewer doesn't crash it, so I have switched.) Sometimes when I minimize remmina to tray, I can never restore it again. I left-click the icon, select the connection name (above the dividing line) and nothing happens. Given how buggy remmina is (at least in my use cases,) how much effort I invested initially to try to file bugs and how little forward motion there has been fixing any of my persistent issues, i'm afraid I've just given up trying to chase down each individual issue, especially considering I have acceptable alternatives (xfreerdp and xvnc4viewer). Package: remmina Version: 1.0.0-1 Followup-For: Bug #659766 It turns out there is another way to get the bar back. Simply clicking anywhere in the remote session makes the bar reappear. It's still annoying, but easy enough to work around in this manner. Thanks, Ben -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Bug#659766: remmina: floating toolbar disappears after first use
Package: remmina Version: 1.0.0-1 Followup-For: Bug #659766 One other behaviour associated with this bug is if you use meta-leftarrow and/or meta-rightarrow to cycle through open sessions and hit a window with keyboard grab turned on, you lose the ability to continue cycling through your sessions until you click on the session. So, this cluster of behaviours somehow relates to keyboard focus. I certainly hope this isn't by design, as the new behaviours hurt productivity using remmina with multiple sessions open, particularly when you need to switch between them frequently and may overshoot the session you were going for. Now you have to lift your fingers from the keyboard, click the screen, and meta-arrow again to get to the session you really intended to land on. I'd file this as a separate issue except I think once this goes back upstream, they're going to find they are related. (Maybe retitle the bug to something like remmina: fullscreen+grab needs mouse-click to see toolbar and allow further meta keys? though perhaps that wouldn't be as obvious for someone searching for a bug matching their problem if they hadn't yet discovered these other aspects of the issue.) Bug#659766: remmina: floating toolbar disappears after first use
Package: remmina Version: 1.0.0-1 Severity: normal In fullscreen mode, the floating toolbar disappears after first use. It does not reappear again until toggling fullscreen mode off and on again. This is particularly cumbersome when doing a lot of back and forth between the remote desktop and your local desktop (e.g. move mouse to focus toolbar, alt-tab goes to your local desktop, otherwise it goes to the remote desktop -- now you must alt-F, alt-F each time to bring the toolbar back again).
