Bug#663185: midori: New upstream version doesn't depend on waf anymore

2014-01-26 Thread Koichi Akabe
Hi Developers,

If you are not interested in this package, why don't you mark it as
RFA[1] or O[2]? Please notify it to other developers on the community.
I think you have to find a new maintainer.

The current status is not good. There are many users of this
package, but it will not become better if you don't do anything.

Because I disagree with the way things were handled with midori package
and don't want to have anything to do with it. Please NMU it or
whatever, at will. Also note I was never listed as Maintainer, I only
was uploader.

Bug#663185: midori: New upstream version doesn't depend on waf anymore

2014-01-16 Thread shirish शिरीष
Hi all,
Just wish they had considered that sooner (the change from waf to
cmake, it is/was a sensible move, just hope it was sooner). Would have
liked to see midori as an alternative browser but with the maintainer
not upto it anymore seems it will soon be discarded.

Bug#663185: midori: New upstream version doesn't depend on waf anymore

2014-01-15 Thread Rogério Brito
Package: midori
Version: 0.4.3+dfsg-0.1
Followup-For: Bug #663185

Hi there.

Just for the record, upstream has changed midori's build system from waf to
cmake:

http://www.twotoasts.de/index.php/2013/11/two-webkittens/

Since some platforms (e.g., powerpc) don't have the luxury of having many
browsers available, it would be super nice to have an updated version of
midori in the archives, now that the legal problem is gone.

Thanks.
