Bug#665015: Maintaining python-sleekxmpp in DPMT.

2014-02-12 Thread Geoff
What about moving the package in Debian Python Modules Team (DPMT) [0]?

I'm willing to migrate the package under the DPMT maintenance, it will, imho, be
even better than co-maintaining, I mean the package will benefit from the team
maintenance.

If it's fine with you, I'll start working on it.

Geoff

Thanks for the offer, but it seems that team uses Subversion, which is
not really my cup of tea.

If that's a misunderstanding and DPMT is fine using git - and CDBS too -
then it is an attractive offer, and will consider joining that team,
moving with me a few packages now maintained elsewhere.

So please help clarify what are the constraints of the DPMT team.

Indeed, they use svn, though I've read discussion about possibly migrate to a
DVCS.
But I don't believe it'll happen in a near future.

Even though they have a strong preference towards dh, there is no official
policy against CDBS, some members even use CDBS.

I'll keep you inform of any evolution concerning the VCS.

Cheers,
Geoff

With CDBS merely tolerated, and git only a possible future (might be
another DVCS, I suspect), it seems attractive to move it only if I don't
move along.

If you want that - i.e. a *takeover*, then ok - go ahead.

If you want my involvement, DPMT does not seem like a suitable home.
