Bug#666468: xorg-server: major text display problems in several apps

2012-11-05 Thread Laurent Bigonville
found 666468 2:1.12.4-2
reopen 666468
thanks

Hi,

On my laptop (with a NVIDIA card and the nouveau driver) the version -2
is even creating worse text corruptions (missing characters in most of
the applications).

01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation Device 0dfc (rev a1)
(prog-if 00 [VGA controller])

I'm reopening this bug.

Cheers

Laurent Bigonville

Bug#666468: xorg-server: major text display problems in several apps

2012-07-05 Thread HacKurx
Hello,

I encountered the same problem with debian wheezy, I solved it by
installing the package "xserver-xorg-video-nouveau_1.0.1-1" of debian
sid.

Please made a request to use this version in debian wheezy.

Thanks for your work in Debian.

Best regards,

FWIW: There are efforts to find the right nouveau/libdrm (by patching
those) which would work with 3.2 kernels while not breaking support for
random cards.

With the following packages the bug disappears:

ii xserver-xorg-video-nouveau 1:0.0.16+git20120529+ace77b6-1
ii linux-image-3.4-trunk-amd643.4.1-1~experimental.1

Unfortunately these packages are both experimental and I am not able to
test the video driver with a stock 3.2 kernel right now. Maybe someone
could test the experimental video driver with the
linux-image-3.2.0-2-amd64? Or are there dependencies between the xserver
and the linux-image-3.4?
