-amd64 is understood fine, but there's no support for 3.x kernels yet
which is the real problem here. Patching configure to accept 3.x is
trivial, but I've not done that publicly yet because there are more
severe issues that fail less gracefully.

I had a go at fixing the issues (breaking changes within 3.x and
above) a while back, but failed and haven't managed to figure out why
yet.


Has there been any further progress with that?
