For reference, this is adding "Acquire::Check-Valid-Until false;" in apt.conf.

Unfortunately, a per-archive config is not supported on squeeze:

deb [ check-valid-until=no ] http://archive.debian.org/debian/ squeeze-lts main

Hi,

can you please disable the Release file flag for consider
this invalid if there hasn't been a new copy within a week or two

See: http://lists.debian.org/debian-backports/2012/04/msg00089.html

We don't plan to provide a special Release file for archive.d.o. If you
really still need it, you can disable the expiration check in APT.

Uhm, I don’t think this is acceptable. Besides, the Release file
for lenny-security and lenny-backports was regenerated several
times a day before the archival, so the original Release file is
not historical content. (Note that lenny itself doesn’t suffer
from the problem.)

Please fix this.

We will not change the old Release files.
They show the status of the time they got archived.
apt handles it.
If you dislike its default, you can tell it to use a different way (and
ignore the expiry)
