Bug#675915: rtorrent: Does not proceed w/ slow torrents on resume (after suspend).

2012-08-21 Thread Sthu
Package: rtorrent
Version: 0.9.2-1
Followup-For: Bug #675915

Dear Maintainer,

You did ask me if there were peers on the "slow" torrents or I even would like
stopped torrents
- not that I did stop it, but it does not download.

- So I can asuredly tell You now that, There is no peers and torrents are not
downloaded.
When I ^q and run rtorrent again - magic happens - the torrent starts quickly
downloading,
and there is a bunch of peers (up to 9 on this particular example).

So, it is evident that rtorrent does not look earnestly for other peers while
downloading and
has no goal of keeping download speed as high as possible - for w/ a time speed
falls down
and peers number falls down too - until rtorrent is restarted - i.e. ^q and run
again.

Thus it is.

Thank You for Your work!

I mean they are downloaded at 2-10 KB/s speed.

The problem is that they do not start downloading on resume standing
for 30 minutes at least. When I do ^K^S - they start.

I do not know about tracker connection - as I have no those torrents
now. - Same for slow torrents list.

Network works after resume - never was a problem.

I do use it now but having no those torrents I can not say anything
about it now.

Sthu.

What do you mean by "slow torrent"? Do some torrents resume downloading
properly (without the need for ^K ^S)? Does rtorrent connect to a
tracker successfully on those torrents? Are there peers listed on the
"slow torrents"? How long do you wait before hitting ^K ^S? Is your
network responsive on the host right after resume?

Could you also try with 0.9.2-1?

Cheers,

Dear Maintainer,

I'm using testing. On resume, after host has been suspended, rtorrent
does not resume downloading of a slow torrent. Only when I press ^K, ^S -
it continues downloading.
