Bug#681440: icedove: Icedove crashes when trying to remove an imap account (not the default one)

2012-09-17 Thread Jeff Richards
I'm also suffering from this bug.

I have tried the recommended course of action and have run icedove in
safe-mode and tried the removal of an imap account. Still freezes, so I
guess that rules out this being an add-on.

I haven't had a chance to try the debugging yet, but I'll upload the
results once I have a chance.

Hello Jose,

thanks for your answer.
A little hint, please CC always the bugtracking system, in your case
681...@bugs.debian.org
so all other persons (like Christoph as Uploader of the package) can
follow your bug.
Or just use 'Reply All'. :)

This looks like http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=659994
or http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=659301

Thanks, we will check this, but this needs a little time. Christoph is
moving his home at the moment. So please be patient ...
As it my work for you right now, the behavior with an non existent
profile is not correct.

Regards
Carsten

Bug#681440: icedove: Icedove crashes when trying to remove an imap account (not the default one)

2012-07-15 Thread Carsten Schoenert
Hello Jose,

can you please check if this also happen with a new plain userprofile?
Check also if some of the installed extensions be responsible.
To do this you can start icedove in a terminal with the parameter
'-safe-mode'.
If this all does'nt help stop your icedove (if running) and just
move your old profile like
$ mv ~/.icedove ~/.icedove.mine
Then (re)start icedove and repeat your allready done steps for
configuration.

If icedove crashes again please make a backtrace like discribed here:
http://wiki.debian.org/Icedove#Debugging

Append your output in a commpressed format here.

If you want your old profile, just remove back your backup
$ mv ~/.icedove.mine ~/.icedove

Thanks
Carsten

Bug#681440: icedove: Icedove crashes when trying to remove an imap account (not the default one)

2012-07-13 Thread Jose Simon
Package: icedove
Version: 3.0.11-1+squeeze11
Severity: normal

Recently setup an Imap account on Icedove, in addition to the default one
(Gmail) and when I tried to remove it today, after clicking on 'Yes' on the
dialog (would you really want to delete the abc...@domain.com account), the
whole program crashes. If run from the command line this is what it complains
about:

icedove-bin: gconv.c:75: __gconv: Assertion `outbuf != ((void *)0) && *outbuf
!= ((void *)0)' failed

I guess deleting the ~/.icedove dir would solve this issue, though the problem
would still remain.

Regards.
