This is totally possible, you just have to manually enter Escape as
the keybinding.  Using the automated dialog for that doesn't work since
Esc closes it, but you can manually edit the entry by double-clicking on
the shortcut column in the list en typing the shortcut's name (as said,
Escape).

This should already be possible. Please check format-section of
Keybindings.
