Package: apticron
Version: 1.1.42
Severity: normal
apticron dies when it should check for updates, the cron mail reads like [1].
(note that I'm replacing the hostname with and the FQDN with .)
I'm using apt-cacher-ng on another box B to cache Debian packages, this machine
called A has the issue. Another machine C, which uses also B for caching has
very same issues. On B itself, apticron seems to work well (!).
So one would assume apt-cacher-ng makes it fail, but a forth box D which does
NOT use the cacher, fails also.
The last useful "new package there" mail by apticron was on 2012-09-30 (it says
libc update, maybe relevant?). From 2012-10-03 on the cron mails came instead.
I'm glad to know how to debug further.
Cheers,
Julius
