Bug#698284: usb-modeswitch-data: ttyUSB* rule should have SYMLINK+= not SYMLINK=
Hi Josua, I have now uploaded your latest usb-modeswitch-data source package to Debian and stumbled upon this bug while housekeeping the remnant bugs lying around. :) Apparently you forgot to include this change in the new rules file (also in the gen_rules.tcl) apparently; was that intentional? Keep us posted, cheers, OdyX Le mercredi, 16 janvier 2013 20.39:30, Josua Dietze a écrit : Am 16.01.2013 10:57, schrieb Didier 'OdyX' Raboud: Le mercredi, 16 janvier 2013 09.53:26, John Hedges a écrit : Symlinks created by local rules for ttyUSB devices are lost because of the following rule in /lib/udev/rules.d/40-usb_modeswitch.rules KERNEL==ttyUSB*, ATTRS{bNumConfigurations}==*, PROGRAM=usb_modeswitch --symlink-name %p %s{idVendor} %s{idProduct} %E{PRODUCT}, SYMLINK=%c Chould it be changed to SYMLINK+=%c ? As I don't have a definite opinion on that, let's see what upstream thinks. Josh: what's your opinion ? Yes, this definitely should be changed. There is no disadvantage. I will do so in the next release, but that is not scheduled yet - so you might want to correct this prior to my update. Darn - of course not ... That's what you get for waiting too long between releases. I am about to issue annother bugfix release (20130610) for the data package.
