Despite what I said above, I've made a sourceful upload by request
from Michael Biebl. Apparently you and him discussed the need for
this as buildds can't handle alternative build-dependencies.

Done.

As mentioned on IRC, these will actually need source uploads.

tracker's -dev packages are versioned, which means the binNMUs
explicitly pulled in tracker 0.14.

I've uploaded tracker, brasero, gnome-boxes, gnome-documents, nautilus
and totem.
I've also poked the bognor-regis maintainer about #711244 (will NMU in a
couple of days, in case I don't hear anything back).

Please schedule the remaining binNMUs for rygel and grilo-plugins.

Cheers,
Michael

Please binNMU. I have no plans for immediate uploading to unstable.
(The fix is pending on top of the experimental version, which will
be uploaded to unstable when it's released as stable according to
gnome 3.10 release schedule.)

Apologies for the delay in getting back to you about this. Please go
ahead with the upload to unstable, and let us know which of the r-deps
will be getting source uploads and which we {can, should} binNMU.

There's #715132, which is marked pending. It's not a regression from
testing, so not a blocker, but it would be nice to avoid binNMUing rygel
just to have it re-uploaded right away.

It's almost two months, so here is a friendly ping.
Should be a pretty self-contained transition, so I'd really like to
start it asap.

Any chance I could start this small transition soon?
It is pretty much self-contained, and doesn't affect other ongoing
transitions.

Cheers,
Michael

Bug#711275: transition: tracker

2013-06-05 Thread Michael Biebl
Package: release.debian.org
Severity: normal
User: release.debian@packages.debian.org
Usertags: transition

Hi,

in preparation for GNOME 3.8, I'd like start a small transition updating
tracker from 0.14 to 0.16.

This involves the following packages
- bognor-regis
- brasero
- gnome-boxes
- gnome-documents
- grilo-plugins
- nautilus
- rygel
- totem

* I've updated brasero, gnome-boxes, gnome-documents, nautilus and totem
in the pkg-gnome SVN and successfully built them against the new tracker
version.

* for bognor-regis I filed #711244, the fix is rather simple (updating
the configure check and the Build-Depends).
* rygel is tracker 0.16 ready and should be binNMUable.
* grilo-plugins is also tracker 0.16 ready and only needs a Build-Depends
update.

I've successfully rebuilt rygel, grilo-plugins and bognor-regis
against tracker 0.16.

Please let me know when I can start the transition.

Cheers,
Michael
