For the sake of completeness, I've also tested that libmatroska 1.3.0-2
(in unstable/sid) builds fine against this new version and it does
indeed, as you can see at [1].

Cheers.

It builds fine, as you can see at [1].
And mkvtoolnix builds fine too [2].
Obviously, libmatroska builds.

So, it should be ok for the transition now ;-)

Cheers.

What about vlc?

In any case, this probably needs to wait until after the libav 9
transition. (Which incidentally could use some help, AFAICT.)

Bug#720592: transition: libebml

2013-08-23 Thread Matteo F. Vescovi
Package: release.debian.org
Severity: normal
User: release.debian@packages.debian.org
Usertags: transition

Dear Release Team,

I'm filing this bug for the transition of libebml package.

A testing-purpose package (1.3.0-1) is available on experimental since
June 30th. Against this version, affiliated libmatroska 1.4.0 was built
and even that package is in the experimental archive.

The reverse dependencies in unstable for this transition are:

 * libmatroska
 * mkvtoolnix

and none of them seems to FTBFS against this new library version, as can
be seen at [1],[2].

Thanks for your time and patience.
