retitle 724804 raspbian package of arduino doesn't work with arduino micro
thanks

Thanks for the bug, I'm a little confused as to the problem you are
trying to report.

First, Debian doesn't support Raspbian (they are separate projects),
but it is possible that a bug in one is affecting the other so it's ok
to discuss it here.

I'm trying to figure out what you're reporting, is it:

*you have raspbian
* you have an arduino micro board

*"micro" on ttyACM0 is greyed out, but you still selected it?

Then the serial monitor crashes?

Question:
Why is "arduino as ISP" selected? Are you trying to program an AVR
chip using the arduino as an in circuit serial programmer?

Serial monitor crashing happens if the wrong serial port is selected,
there is permission problems, or rxtx can't find the serial device.

It sounds like there is something wrong with the serial port when you
connect? I can't follow what you're trying to say with the code.

"I can develop Sketches in the IDE, Upload them to the Micro board,
and they do work."
So what is the bug you are reporting? Is it that the serial monitor is
crashing but everything else works?

It might be a bug with rxtx (the serial port library). Does arduino
from upstream work? Could you try the debian experimental packages
(version 1.5+)?

Regards,
Scott
