Bug#726674:

2013-11-13 Thread Pali Rohár
Hello,

development of ksplice continue on github:
https://github.com/jirislaby/ksplice
git://github.com/jirislaby/ksplice.git

That version is based on 0.9.9.1

Maybe you should consider updating ksplice to version from git,
because current debian version does not working with new 3.x
kernels.

I've taken a closer look at it, and it doesn't have any source code changes
apart from some Autoconf-related scripts.

Looks like it doesn't make sense to keep it
in unstable (more to say, in testing) anymore...

Maybe it's better to move this package into experimental,
// I mean, upload 0.9.9.1 into experimental,
// and then remove 0.9.9 from unstable & testing
to preserve it for the future better times? :)

Best wishes, Bob

I have to double check, but IIRC i backported the relevant commits just
before they tagged 0.9.9.1, so we are probably already carrying
everything via debian/patches.

Anyway, I'll proceed to synch it soon. OTOH, I believe that this project
is dead upstream though, and I'm not even sure that having it in jessie
is worth anything.

Cheers, Luca

Bug#726674: ksplice: update to the last upstream release

2013-10-17 Thread Bob Bib
Package: ksplice
Version: 0.9.9-4
Severity: wishlist

Dear Maintainer,

it's unlikely there'll be new upstream releases of this software,
but it's better to update it to the last one (0.9.9.1):
https://oss.oracle.com/ksplice/software/
https://oss.oracle.com/ksplice/software/ksplice-0.9.9.1-src.tar.gz

Best wishes, Bob
