Bug#729817: Please package LilyPond 2.18.0
Dear Don, Now that LilyPond 2.18.0, what are your plans for packaging it for Debian? Would you like some help doing so? I am keen to start using this version of LilyPond in the approved Debian way! I've actually just wrapped up the packaging for it now. I have to test it a little bit, but I should be uploading it sometime today or tomorrow. I've taken your (unreleased) package, from the Git repository, and successfully rebuilt it under Ubuntu Saucy and Debian Sid. I have migrated 1,350 scores to this new version, all successfully. A big thanks for your hard work. I did note, however, that the packages did not pass Lintian. If I get some time, I'll try to come up with a patch that fixes those Lintian errors (mainly packaged compiled .pyc files). I believe this is a bug in dh-python2, but I haven't had a chance to completely debug it yet. -- Don Armstrong http://www.donarmstrong.com Good people are good because they've come to wisdom through failure. Bug#729817: Please package LilyPond 2.18.0
Control: retitle -1 Please package LilyPond 2.18.0 Hi, Don, As you probably know already, LilyPond 2.17.95 was released earlier this month, as a beta for the eventual 2.18.0 release. Would you be able to package this for experimental, in preparation for the final 2.18 release, so that Debian Jessie will have the latest, greatest package? Thanks! I'm probably not going to bother packaging it for experimental, as the 2.18.0 release is [imminent]. Now that LilyPond 2.18.0, what are your plans for packaging it for Debian?
