Same here. Currently the /doc and /tools directories can only be
downloaded using ftp or rsync, since there is no file that lists what
files they contain.

Please provide checksum files for parts of the archive such as:

  ftp://ftp.debian.org/debian/README
  ftp://ftp.debian.org/debian/docs/*
  ftp://ftp.debian.org/debian/tools/*

Those files are useful for generating debian-installer images, though other
files may be of use for other purposes. Seems like all files in the archive
should have some chain of verification, ideally.

Something similar to /debian/dists/*/{*Release*,SHA256SUMS,MD5SUMS}
with gpg signatures would be perfect...
