Bug#771998: plasma-nm: Plasma-NM gets partially dysfunctional after systemd upgrade

2018-10-01 Thread Mikaela Suomalainen
Hi,

I think I can reproduce this issue anytime by running "systemctl
restart NetworkManager". When I run it, plasma-nm loses all
connections and seems to be desynced with NetworkManager as some
applications (like HexChat) will keep receiving messages and appear
connected for a moment while plasma-nm complains about "no secrets
received" or similar strange error.

The only way to restore connectivity surely after that seems to be
rebooting as "killall plasmashell" and "plasmashell&" didn't change
the situation.

Bug#771998: plasma-nm: Plasma-NM gets partially dysfunctional after systemd upgrade

2014-12-04 Thread Ralf Jung
Package: plasma-nm
Version: 0.9.3.4-2
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

after upgrading systemd, die KDE NM applet gets partially dysfunctional.

Steps to reproduce:
- disable WiFi in the Plasma NM
$ sudo aptitude reinstall systemd
$ sudo systemctl restart NetworkManager.service
- click the WiFi checkbox in Plasma NM

Expectid behavior:
WiFi should be enabled again.

Actual behavior:
It is not - nothing happens. However, I can run sudo nmcli radio wifi on
to enable radio again, and Plasma NM notices that. It even connects to
the WiFi, but the checkbox remains dysfunctional - I cannot control radio
anymore.
It also happened once to me that I cannot use Plasma NM to control the
WiFi connections, but I could not reproduce that.
Not even restarting Plasma fixes the checkbox.

Additional information:
This may be related to
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=771122
(to work around the issue described there, I do a restart of NM).

Kind regards,
Ralf
