According to upstream, this was a bug in GCC 4.9 worked around by this
commit which is present in 0.9.11:
https://sourceforge.net/p/desmume/code/5120/

I can reproduce this bug on jessie i386, but not jessie amd64. Since
desmume doesn't work at all on jessie i386, the bug is grave.

Can you please retry with the latest version in unstable?
It starts just fine for me.
