So I would probably be better off to wait for 4.8. Yes, I know about the freeze. Is 4.8 around the corner, or is there room for an experimental package? In fact, even just a package buildable from git would be enough for the time being. I do not know exactly when 4.8 will be released, but I can upload 4.7.7. to experimental. However, uploading GAP carry a large resource usage. What do do you need it for ? It's needed because that's what the next sage will use, so in order to experiment of compiling sage with debian packages, one needs fairly recent versions. Indeed uploading just for the few who experiment with sage can be overkill, but perhaps making a newer package available in a git somewhere would be enough?
