I do not know exactly when 4.8 will be released, but I can upload 4.7.7. to
experimental.  However, uploading GAP carry a large resource usage. What do do
you need it for ?


It's needed because that's what the next sage will use, so in order to 
experiment of compiling sage with debian packages, one needs fairly 
recent versions.


Indeed uploading just for the few who experiment with sage can be 
overkill, but perhaps making a newer package available in a git 
somewhere would be enough?
