So, 8.2 has been released without even a single comment to this
request. I am done with it. Feel free to reopen and try your luck. :/

 So, there are two package revisions +deb8u{1,2} that are currently
 missing from the jessie branch in SVN, right?

emilio@tatooine:~/deb/pkg-evolution/jessie/evolution-data-server$ head -1
debian/changelog
evolution-data-server (3.12.9~git20141128.5242b0-2+deb8u2) unstable;
urgency=medium

AFAICS they are there.

 What is the gbp import-dscs pendant in SVN?

Not sure about that.

 Will it be possible to use jessie's evolution 3.12.9~ with e-d-s
 3.12.11 or will this have to get updated in lockstep, too?

AFAIK that is fine. But you should give it some testing :)

 If we go for 3.12.11 for Jessie, I will need some help to merge this
 version into the jessie SVN branch.

OK.

Cheers,
Emilio

You can try. It may depend on how big the debdiff is and on what kind
of fixes
it got (see NEWS). I think Jordi and Joss wanted to try to update to
3.12.11.
Alternatively just provide a targeted debdiff.

I put 3.12.11 in unstable precisely so that it gets a little testing,
and I’d indeed like to see it in 8.2 if the diff is acceptable.

There's already a branch in pkg-evolution/jessie/evolution-data-server/. Use
that, build and test the packages in jessie, then open a p-u bug against
release.debian.org with a debdiff from jessie attached.

To tag the package, do: svn-buildpackage --svn-only-tag
