We can reproduce this at will on i686 Ubuntu images on the Catalyst
cloud. 

Douglas chased it as far as the kernel page layout!  It seems to come
down to differences in opinion on how deep a nested stack should be
able to go.

The workaround is to make /dev/shm available (which I guess allows for extra
stack space?). Proper fix would be to avoid the extra nesting in the
stylesheets.

I was using sbuild but I also see it in a normal chroot.  Are you

Building locally, I can't reproduce this.

Is this a normal chroot where /dev/shm is available and writeable for
all users?
