Bug#791170: libsigc++-2.0: library transition may be needed when GCC 5 is the default

2015-08-08 Thread Michael Biebl
Hi,

 Package: src:libsigc++-2.0

libsigc++-2.0 has been uploaded in the mean time and built successfully
everywhere. The auto tracker at [1] looks ok to me.

Please schedule the binNMUs (excluding glibmm2.4, which will get a
sourceful upload as glibmm2.4_2.44.0-3.

Thanks,
Michael

Control: retitle -1 libsigc++-2.0: library transition is needed when GCC 5 is

so the incompatibilities are found in the not instantiated templates? however
with a rebuilt library I also find the symbol
_ZNSt7__cxx1110_List_baseIN4sigc9slot_baseESaIS2_EE8_M_clearEv

That symbols is a weak symbol which is leaked from libstdc++6 [1] and
thus marked as optional.
So a library transitions doesn't look necessary.
I rebuilt glibmm2.4, which is a rdep of libsigc++2.0, and there weren't
any link failures caused by libsigc++-2.0

Marking the bug as moreinfo for now.
