Hi, 


We have a new member now for the pkg-crosswire team who is going to take care 
of xiphos and so there is no need for 
the removal.

Xiphos is part of a number of transitions (sword, gtkhtml, potentially 
libstdc++).

Please remove this package which is a reverse dependency of gtkhtml4.0,
see #797429

One or more of the following conditions has manually been verified to
apply to this package (as of it's current(!) state in unstable):

 * abandoned / unmaintained
 * users reports grave issues trying to use the software
   as packaged
 * dead upstream
 * very low popcon
 * package generally in very bad shape according to warnings
   on http://packages.qa.debian.org/

The main reason for filing this request was stated initially in this
mail. Please verify it still applies when you process this request. If
that is no longer the case, then feel free to close this request without
any further action.
