Hi Bogdan,
355/358 are on the radar. The required packaging changes are in the SVN
repository, but the situation in testing/unstable must stabilise first
before 352 can move in and experimental can be upgraded. There are a
couple of outstanding issues that need to be dealt with.
Also there is a regression with the new libEGL from 355/358, causes VLC
to crash on startup. A new version of both releases is long overdue, so
I'm waiting to see if that gets solved, otherwise it will most likely
have to be rolled back to the older version of libEGL (still shipped by
upstream but no longer used).
TL;DR: working on it, almost there, not quite yet :-)
