Bug#808848: RM: xmds-doc -- ROM; Unmaintained, outdated

2015-12-23 Thread Andreas Tille
Package: ftp.debian.org
Severity: normal

As announced on Debian Science list[1] I hereby request the removal of
the last package of a team that does not exist any more (Debian
Scientific Computing) since it was merged to Debian Science. This
last package obviously did not found any maintainer and there does not
seem any interest any more.

Kind regards

Andreas.

I think we should also drop the xmds package. There is an xmds2 package in
Debian, which seems mostly compatible to xmds. There seems to be one
functionality which is not supported by xmds2, but the few users that are
affected by this could install the old xmds package from jessie. Everybody
else should have more luck with the actively developed xmds2 package.
