Bug#813278: minidlna: scanner crashes on invalid flac files
fixed 813278 1.1.4+dfsg-1 thanks Hello toby, I know that current stable version if full of problems, but most of them are not critical: they are not really security problems (or may be used in really rare vector of attack) nor make minidlna unusable. https://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/developers-reference/pkgs.html#upload-stable > Basically, a package should only be uploaded to stable if one of the > following happens: > > a truly critical functionality problem > > the package becomes uninstallable > > a released architecture lacks the package So I see no reason to update stable version in this case =( Please use current version from testing (or backports). I believe you will like it more, then 1.1.2 with hotfixes. -- Best regards, Alexander Gerasiov Contacts: e-mail: g...@cs.msu.su Homepage: http://gerasiov.net Skype: gerasiov PGP fingerprint: 04B5 9D90 DF7C C2AB CD49 BAEA CA87 E9E8 2AAC 33F1

Bug#813278: minidlna: scanner crashes on invalid flac files
Package: minidlna Version: 1.1.2+dfsg-1.1+b3 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer, * What led up to the situation? I have a flac file in my collection that has invalid metadata (a streaminfo chunk with a sample_rate of 0). This causes the scanner to crash so only part of my collection can be served by minidlna. * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)? Moving the file out of the way worked around the problem. Commit 916546d45fa384c337e7953253c45e28bb213cb5 fixes it. Backporting this fix to the version of minidlna in jessie would be much appreciated. -- System Information: Debian Release: 8.3 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: armhf (armv7l) Kernel: Linux 3.4.104-sunxi (SMP w/2 CPU cores; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages minidlna depends on: ii adduser 3.113+nmu3 ii initscripts 2.88dsf-59 ii libavformat566:11.4-1~deb8u1 ii libavutil54 6:11.4-1~deb8u1 ii libc62.19-18+deb8u2 ii libexif120.6.21-2 ii libflac8 1.3.0-3 ii libid3tag0 0.15.1b-11 ii libjpeg62-turbo 1:1.3.1-12 ii libogg0 1.3.2-1 ii libsqlite3-0 3.8.7.1-1+deb8u1 ii libvorbis0a 1.3.4-2 ii lsb-base 4.1+Debian13+nmu1 minidlna recommends no packages. minidlna suggests no packages. -- Configuration Files: /etc/minidlna.conf changed [not included] -- no debconf information
