The directory holding the standard images could be rsyncable, so that an service could rsync the images (even automatically) to a local location. That way, the admin of $SERVICE could decide whether to hotlink or to and how to rsync. Greetings Marc -- - Marc Haber | "I don't trust Computers. Bug#813341: Please update the debian logo of your service
Hi, first of all: dear publicity team, thanks for handling this so very well. Even though these are very sad circumstances, I was proud and happy being part of Debian when I read Laura's mail here yesterday. Same goes for Ian's memorial event at FOSDEM. Thank you. While I think this is a technically sound proposal how to do hotlinking, I'm not sure I want to do that for the services I maintain, as a matter of principle. Hotlinking to a different site is bad, as this leaks visitor information to a different entitity. Granted, it's a different entity in the same organisation, but still. cheers, Holger signature.asc Description: This is a digitally signed message part.

If that is a concern, assuming you have a build process for your pages, make it easy to pull content in from said canonical location. Richard
