Hi...

Today, I have upgraded to the last kernel but the bluetooth doesn't work
again.

Maybe I have found the problem. From the syslog:

Bluetooth 4.0

It seems that there's an incompatibility with the kernel 4.4 series.

I have tried also to reinstall the firmware-atheros package.

There is an old bug
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=773310

Thanks

News

I have upgraded to new kernel (version 4.4.0-1-amd64 = 4.4.2-3) and the
problem has came back.

If I boot with old 4.3.0-1, the bluetooth still works.

I have also upgraded the bios/efi, but not resolves (I don't understand why
the bug may depend from the bios: it's the same with the different
kernels...)

Yes, this sounds like a bug in either the rfkill driver or the BIOS.
Check whether there's a BIOS update available that mentions fixes to
Bluetooth or flight mode.

There is also a module parameter that can be used to always force
rfkill off, which might possibly make a difference.  Try adding a .conf
file under /etc/modprobe.d containing:

    options ideapad-laptop no_bt_rfkill=1

Ben.

Hi,

attached you find the debug.

But

I have done as follow:

1) added 'debug' into grub;

2) reboot with 0.122 - bluetooth ko, system setting told me 'no bluetooth
device found', but rfkill has showed me hci0;

3) update to 0.123 and reboot - bluetooth works!

Yesterday I have rebooted more times, before to search the problem and
after for reportbug, but only when I had the 0.122 the bluetooth has
worked.

So I think I have more problems...

Thanks

Could you please send, for the initramfs generated by v0.123:

1. The output of 'lsinitramfs /boot/initrd.img-4.3.0-1-amd64'
2. The contents of '/run/initramfs/initramfs.debug' after booting with
   the additional kernel parameter 'debug'

And the same for the working initramfs generated by v0.122.

Bug#814508: initramfs-tools: bluetooth/hci fails

2016-02-12 Thread Stefano
Package: initramfs-tools
Version: 0.123
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

after upgrade initramfs-tools and initramfs-tools-core from 0.122 (and others),
this morning my bluetooth mouse doesn't work anymore.

Downgraded both to 0.122 (and reboot), the mouse works again.

With 0.123 the kde5 System Settings can't find a bluetooth device:

~ <-su> # rfkill list
0: ideapad_wlan: Wireless LAN
Soft blocked: yes
Hard blocked: no
1: ideapad_bluetooth: Bluetooth
Soft blocked: no
Hard blocked: no
2: phy0: Wireless LAN
Soft blocked: yes
Hard blocked: no

With 0.122 I have

~ <-su> # rfkill list
0: ideapad_wlan: Wireless LAN
Soft blocked: yes
Hard blocked: no
1: ideapad_bluetooth: Bluetooth
Soft blocked: no
Hard blocked: no
2: phy0: Wireless LAN
Soft blocked: yes
Hard blocked: no
3: hci0: Bluetooth
Soft blocked: no
Hard blocked: no

Thanks

Stefano
