Bug#820483: accommodate rename of btrfs-tools to btrfs-progs

2016-04-25 Thread Nicholas D Steeves
I just noticed that I had Alioth write access, so I pulled my changes
to partman-btrfs from my github tree, and pushed them to Alioth.
We're 100% ready to go, as far as I can tell.

Cheers,
Nicholas

Btrfs-progs and the udeb are in the archive now.

Nicholas

An update: the btrfs-tools to btrfs-progs rename was uploaded to NEW
earlier today. I've applied to join debian-boot both by email and on
Alioth. Please approve the request if you'd like me to push my
changes to Alioth. Otherwise, please let me know you'd prefer a diff,
or to pull from my github tree.

It seems I forgot to CC you my 9 April reply. Sorry about that!

Sincerely,
Nicholas

I can't think of anything else, and that sounds good to me. I've
updated my git tree and the packages I uploaded to debian-mentors to
release for unstable instead of experimental. Also, I'm not 100% sure
how to correctly manage bug dependencies and priorities. The original
btrfs-tools bug is #780081 and my RFS bug is #818687.

Best regards,
Nicholas

Changes seem to be OK, but I guess that we can't upload before the
btrfs-tools package hasn't been renamed, isn't it?

From what I see, we need both btrfs-progs and the udeb in the archive
before partman-btrfs is uploaded, or it will:
- FTBFS
- fail when running

I'm not sure if an upload to experimental is really useful, as the
installer and its components doesn't make good use of experimental.

I'd say "go ahead for the package rename and we'll apply the changes
to partman-btrfs as soon as btrfs-progs is in unstable". Other
advices?

2016-04-08 Thread Nicholas D Steeves
Package: partman-btrfs
Version: 20

I am working on problems associated with bug #780081, where it was
planned to have a fix staged in experimental after Jessie was
released.

To access further information about this package, please visit the
following URL:

  http://mentors.debian.net/package/partman-btrfs

Alternatively, one can download the package with dget using this command:

  dget -x
http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/p/partman-btrfs/partman-btrfs_20+nmu1.dsc

On #debian-boot jcristau said he prefered "a git tree [which] would be
easier than a source package tbh". I don't have alioth permissions to
push to partman-btrfs or debian-cd so I've published it here. Please
let me know if you'd prefer a diff. The repo can be found here:

Thanks,
Nicholas
